**Responsibilities**
In conjunction with Eastern Pulmonary and Sleep, Ascension St. Vincent's is looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our Pulm Critical Care-Intensivist nocturnist team.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at Ascension St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL.
**Position Highlights:**

+ Collaborate with Intensivist colleagues in covering ICUs on a consulting basis initially with an end goal of closed coverage

+ High acuity ICU with advanced Cardiac: Impella, IABP, ECMO, proning for ARDS, SLED, CRRT
+ Strong program in noninvasive ventilation, utilization of latest ventilator models
+ Work with collegial and supportive physician
**Responsibilities:**
+ Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
+ Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
+ Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
+ Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
**Requirements**
**Licensure/Certification/Registration:**
+ BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
+ Certified Advanced Practice Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
+ Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
**Education:**
+ Master's degree of Nursing required.
