SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

Assesses patients pulmonary status, develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician and nurses and delivers respiratory care to patients. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.

EDUCATION:

+ A.A./A.S. Degree from a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) School for Respiratory Care required.

REQUIREMENTS:

+ New Jersey license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required.

+ Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.

+ BLS (American Heart Association) required.

+ Certifications in PALS and NRP to be obtained within the first twelve months of employment.
