SRE Lead - Multiple Cloud Environment

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Lead to join our team on a remote contract basis. As the SRE Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing our global team, working across multiple cloud environments. Your primary focus will be on designing and developing robust systems and processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a global team of Site Reliability Engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
  2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and architecture, to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions in multiple cloud environments.
  3. Drive the adoption of best practices for reliability engineering, including implementing automation, monitoring, and alerting strategies to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  4. Develop and maintain service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs), establishing meaningful metrics to measure and improve system reliability and performance.
  5. Continuously evaluate and optimize our infrastructure and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in site reliability engineering, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and improve our practices and methodologies.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert on site reliability engineering principles and practices, providing guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a global team of Site Reliability Engineers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong expertise in designing, building, and managing highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions in multiple cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Deep understanding of site reliability engineering principles and best practices, with hands-on experience implementing automation, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is preferred.
