The University of Alabama at Birmingham, O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking a Manager of Clinical Research Data Coordination to join our team.

The Manager for Clinical Research Data Coordination will serve as the O'Neal Clinical Trial Office expert on data reporting responsibilities, various sponsor and IT data capture platforms and will lead, manage, and train new staff as well as design, implement and interpret research data projects.

The O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States and is the only one in Alabama and in the Deep South region. A comprehensive designation also means UAB Medicine patients have access to leading-edge treatments or clinical trials that they may not otherwise have at local community hospitals or smaller cancer centers. General Responsibilities

* To design, implement and interpret research data projects.
* To direct others in the analysis of large data sets, instrument design, and data management in addition to providing data support for administrative operations and non-research clinical issues.
* To assume responsibility as technical consultant to faculty members developing funded proposals.
* To foster an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as HIPAA and FERPA, on an annual basis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Manages, leads operations of data coordinators performing data collection involving complex oncology trails.
* Directs others in the analysis of large data sets, instrument design, and data management in addition to providing data support for administrative operations and non-research clinical issues.
* Assumes responsibility as technical consultant to faculty members developing funded proposals.
* Fosters an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training,
* Manages, mentors and trains data coordinators.
* Assists colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving processes.
* Establishes and assigns the activities of subordinate personnel to accomplish study goals.
* Supervises approximately 8 to 10 direct reports.
* Provides human resources oversight for data management staff including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $70,425 - $114,440

* Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

* Comprehensive clinical trial data management.
* Knowledge/understanding of ICH-GCP and medical terminology.
* Use of database management skills and knowledge of health care to collect and clinical data.
* Large-scale clinical trial data management experience.
* Knowledge of applicable clinical research data collection requirements; including GCP and ICH guidelines.
* Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification strongly preferred.
