PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorization, and providing telephone triage.
Job Duties:
* Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration, obtains authorizations, assists in the collection of copays and enters new patient information.
* Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts.
* Ensures test results are filed.
* Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
* Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
One (1) year of related related experience is required.
