Great people make Schneider Electric a great companyThe Power Service Consulting Engineer is the technical advisor to both internal SE entities and external customers.  They  meet with customers to evaluate their issues and goals and work within SE to ensure that the offer that is presented solves these issues.  They are the project lead ensuring that the executed work, whether performed by themselves, or by others within Consulting, is performed within specifications and to the SOW and delivered to the customer within the specified time.The PSE will advise and support Business Development Managers and Project Developers by lending technical expertise when needed and ensuring the customer is aware and comfortable with the capabilities within Consulting.The Power Service Consulting Engineer must become proficient in all the PSE offerings.  This includes, electrical distribution design, Power Control and Automation, (PCA), equipment assessments, power quality assessments, and others.  The Engineer will work within Consulting to ensure that they are progressing in their knowledge of all Schneider Electric (SE) offerings so the solutions they offer meet all customer expectations and the work that is completed by or under the direction of a Staff Engineer meets both National and Consulting Standards.Typical ResponsibilitiesProposal and quotation developmentTechnical advice during pre-sale engineering consultingEducation of/Consultation with internal/external stakeholdersDevelops and maintains relationships with key customers both internal and externalWorks to develop and maintain high technical and commercial proficiency for all PSE offersExecutes engineering work as needed and directedWorks with PM entities to ensure work within area is completedManages client expectations, facilitates proposal delivery, and leads project execution.Delivers technical reportsESTIMATED TRAVEL: 10-30% frequent travelMinimum Qualifications:BSEE or MSEEExperienced power system/controls engineering Demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust of clients in a consulting roleProficient in MS Office applicationsExpert in at least one, if not many, of the following areas of expertise:Electrical power system studiesElectrical distribution designSwitchgear AutomationElectrical power quality assessmentATO programmingRelay programming and commissioningPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (PE) licenseDemonstrated ability to develop project scope and identify project risks (technical, schedule, cost, change order)Electrical maintenance and testing experienceDemonstrated ability to develop win strategy (differentiators, competitive environment, commercial strategy)Ability to analyze and interpret engineering documents, codes and standards, technical proceduresAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, and customersAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Financial acumen and understandingCool-Calm-Collected under pressure and in dynamic environmentsAble to simultaneously address project details without losing the big-pictureAnticipates and communicates project risks and implements mitigation strategiesCollaborative and influential communication styleAbility to work remotelyAbility to work individually or with a teamWe seek out and reward people for putting the customer first, being disruptive to the status quo, embracing different perspectives, continuously learning, and acting like owners. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
