ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: A rotating 40 hour work week, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, 3:00 pm - 12:00 am, and 12:00 am - 8:00 am, Monday thru Friday. Must be able to work occasional overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Assure that daily task, functions, and performance are being met in both Police/Heavy Equipment and City Hall motor pools. Oversee the repair and disposal of all Police Marked and Unmarked Units, as well as those units available to City Hall Personnel. Communicate with Police Chiefs, Commanders and Department Heads on a daily basis with issues and solutions to maintain an effective organization. Conduct training on City policies and safety requirements for all pool employees. Conduct training on heavy equipment, maintenance care, and operation of heavy vehicles. Monitor all reports, time sheets, work orders for repair and service. Assist with stages of City of Corpus Christi yearly auctions and all special projects headed by the Police Department. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate or the equivalent and two (2) years of experience directly related to the essential functions of the position is required. A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. Applicant will be required to pass the written portion of the Class A CDL exam with an X endorsement within three (3) months of employment. The driving portion of the Class A CDL must be passed within 5 months of employment.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
