REGISTERED NURSE

Position Title: Registered Nurse Department: Ambulance # Purpose: Primary responsibilities are to provide prompt and effective emergency medical care to patients of all ages in emergency and non-emergency situations who require stabilization and/or resuscitation as a result of illness or injury in the field. Provides care as set forth by the system protocols. Included in this care is administering medication to patients of all ages as needed per protocol, accurate documentation of the care provided. In scene management, will follow management structure as set forth by the Federal NIMS standards. Another primary responsibility is precepting students. As a teaching hospital, Genesis Medical Center has a relationship with Blackhawk College and other educational facilities and is responsible for assisting with education of EMT-Paramedic and Basic students in the prehospital and Emergency Department setting. Is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, and restocking of any equipment that has been utilized within the ambulance. In addition, functions as an Emergency Department Technician when not serving in the EMT-Paramedic role in the field. # Report To: Director, Ambulance or Supervisor, Ambulance # Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities. # Materials Responsibility: Very Limited. Work requires very limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include personal work materials, supplies or equipment, or very small amounts of cash. The employee has a very limited or indirect amount of control over these resources. Although human error might require the repair or replacement of materials, usually the cost of correcting these errors is minor. The variety and volume of resources is also very limited.
