Fund Accounting Manager
Our client, a real estate investment firm, is looking for a Fund Accounting Manager to join their growing team.
LOCATION:
San Francisco, CA. Hybrid capacity, 3 days per week in the office.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Fund Accounting Manager will perform various duties to support the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, along with providing tax accountants and auditors with information for funds and/or separate accounts assigned to them.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Investment vehicle level cash analysis.
Approve payables/expenditure workflow Roll-up and reconciliation of investment accounts.
Preparation of monthly Flash Reports for various investment vehicles. Recording month-end journal entries and facilitating the closing process.Balance sheet reconciliation (cash, AP, AR, etc.).Maintaining the general ledger and updating supporting schedules and workbooks.Lead the quarter-end close process and preparation of financial statements.
Prepare and coordinate finalization of quarterly investor reporting packages. Maintain partner capital accounts.Prepare ad hoc reports to investors.Prepare financials packages for auditors. This includes financial statement preparation & footnote disclosure for standalone audits.
Prepare financial packages for tax accountants and review partnership tax returns.Be available to respond to tax & audit inquiries.Assist in accounting analysis on acquisitions and dispositions.Involved with investor relations and communicationsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and with a minimum of 4-7 years accounting work experience. Real estate, private equity, financial services, strongly preferred.
Must have experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook. MRI and Juniper Square experiences are highly preferred.Working knowledge of partnership/fund accounting concepts.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create positive work environment for the team. Exceedingly well organized, very flexible, and strong follow through.Must be a self-starter that is highly motivated, deadline and detail oriented, and understands a sense of urgencyProactive, resourceful, efficient with strong decision-making skills; works independently with minimal supervisionExpert level written and verbal communication skills; must possess high-level of professionalism and strong communication skills Detail-oriented, a learner and problem-solver with an active, curious intellect. COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $135K - $175K bonus. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
