In the asynchronous world of financial infrastructure, these events are a mission critical part of our merchant’s businesses.As part of the API Events team, you will work closely with partners in product and infrastructure to deliver a world class product experience to our merchants. We are dreaming up new ways of letting our users extend Stripe in a secure and reliable way, and we want your help delivering this platform to fit the evolving needs of our users.What you’ll doResponsibilitiesBe actively involved in strategic direction and product decisionsManage a team of senior engineers and help develop their careers with stretch responsibilities and excellent feedbackSet and execute a vision that extends the possibilities of what our users can do on and off of StripeWork with engineering leaders in your org and across Stripe to build scalable and automated systems and make the right foundational investmentsEmpower your engineering team to deliver a high level of technical quality and impactRecruit a diverse team of engineers that are amongst the best in the industry, from outreach to closingContribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management teamWho you areWe’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirementsMinimum 2 years of direct Engineering Management experienceHave experience hiring, growing, and developing engineersLead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, ambiguous environmentsHave experience building scalable software and backend systemsHold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systemsThrive in a collaborative cross-functional environment and fostering a great culture within a teamExcellent verbal and written communicationPreferred qualificationsExperience developing and shaping externally facing productsExperience at productively leading hybrid (in-office + remote) teamsExperience building systems to deliver WebhooksExperience across a variety of infrastructure systems like distributed databases, service frameworks, async processing services etc
