Responsibilities

The Educator, Respiratory Disease - RT is responsible for creating an environment that facilities patient/family/community learning and the achievement of desired cognitive, psychomotor, and affective outcomes. He/she uses a variety of teaching strategies and methods to assess and evaluate patient/family/community learning needs/barriers. The Educator, Respiratory Disease, helps develop teaching handouts, teaching aides, and policy and procedure. The Educator, respiratory disease functions as a change agent and leader and demonstrates an ongoing commitment to life long learning and the application of research and best practice evidence into the clinical setting.

Qualifications

Required:

* Three years as a Respiratory Therapist
* Bachelor Degree
* RRT

Desired:

* One year of pediatric RT experience
* Certified Asthma Educator
