Position Description:

The Paraprofessional is responsible for direct face to face contact, behavioral intervention and social skill building to adults and children in schools, as well as community and home settings. The Paraprofessional will provide input and work together with the Clinical Director and Therapists to create, update, and implement treatment plans for all consumers on caseload. The paraprofessional will also meet weekly with the Treatment Team to discuss consumer progress.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Completes, submits, and verifies accuracy of paperwork, including but not limited to progress notes, intake paperwork, etc., while maintaining documentation guidelines set forth by the state.

 Attends weekly meetings and maintains effective working relationships with the Clinical Director, Therapists, School Administrators, and school personnel.
 Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Clinical Director, Therapists, Families, school administrators and school personnel in order to engage in effective communication.

 Intervenes in crisis in a calm, appropriate manner that maintains staff and consumer safety.

 Works effectively with consumers in groups and co-facilitates with the Treatment Team, including but not limited to planning and implementing program extensions.

Minimum Qualifications:
 High School Diploma or GED
 Valid Georgia Driver’s License
 Dependable transportation and be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
 Excellent oral, written and documentation skills.
 Familiarity with BIRP notes, ISPs, Crisis notes, and ongoing MICPS
 Understanding of Medicaid billing process for out of clinic services
 Ability to manage crisis situations and stressful conditions
 Must have a laptop computer with Microsoft Office, as well as internet accessibility 
 Must have CPR/First Aid Certification 
 Must Complete Essential Learning Training
