The Child and Family Development Resource Center (CFDRC) at Eastern Connecticut State University, a state-of-the-art childcare and research facility, is seeking a part-time (University Assistant) health services coordinator/nurse. The health services coordinator/nurse will:

* Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
* Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
* Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
* Keep track of students' vaccination records and annual physicals
* Update students' medical history
* Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
* Ensure compliance with national and local health laws and licensing standards of the Office of Early Childhood
* Support the CFDRC with resources to families and teachers on child development and safety, nutrition, and health issues.
* Provide guidance in development of health and medication policies, provide staff training in medication administration

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing and hold a current valid Connecticut state nursing registration. Expereince as a school nurse or within a pediatrician's office as well as a working knowledge of Department of Public Health and Office of Early Childhood childcare liscensing guidelines is strongly preferred.
