Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesWe have an exceptional opportunity for a Water Resources Management Market Sector Leader to join our growing Water Business Group. The Water Resources Market Sector Leader will be focused on developing and delivering water resource management programs and projects. These programs and projects will be focused on water resource systems, but the successful candidate will also support water resource initiatives related to drinking water, wastewater, and water reuse. This role includes both program development and project delivery responsibilities to manage and create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates. This individual will work with HDR’s senior water resources leadership to continue our strategic water resource, water supply, wastewater, and water reuse program growth in Southern California. Will work directly with clients to formulate project approach and develop detailed project scopes that meet client expectations. Will also assist with the identification of sub-consultant arrangements and develop sub-consultant agreements in line with company policies. The Market Sector Lead will also be responsible for operational management of the Section including staff leadership, workload management, project delivery, quality control and profitability.The candidate will also be responsible for client management while collaborating with business development teams on opportunities and pursuits.  Services provided may include planning, design, financial analysis, O&M, and alternative delivery.  Will collaborate on business class practice and professional discipline groups with regard to technical services, marketing, and activities to continually improve standards and best practices; implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews. Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation. Participate and encourage technical involvement in industry organizations and functions including presentations and publications. Facilitate lessons learned for project delivery processes trends successes strengths and weaknesses. The candidate will communicate and collaborate with business group management for operational activities related to staffing, production delivery, quality control and profitability. Additional Responsibilities:Take responsibility for operations of production section including profitability, quality control and marketing supportFunction as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilitiesBe involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviewsBe directly involved with private and public clients in marketing, project production and related issuesSee that all work is planned, organized, managed, and evaluated through proactive project management systemImplement, monitor, and support company policyWork cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production effortsPerform other duties as needed.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in EngineeringA minimum of 10 years relevant water resources management experience A minimum of 10 years project management experiencePEMS Office and MS Project experience is required.Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.Must be experienced in development and management of diverse technical teams.Must be able to work cooperatively with other area business class leaders, section managers, market sector leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.Must be committed to quality improvement and HDR values.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Why HDR  At HDR, we know work isn’t only about who you work for it’s also about what you do and how you do it.
