Tyto Athene is seeking an Avaya Network Integration Design Specialist at Fort Belvoir
The ANIDS will be responsible to perform the O&M functions, preventive and demand maintenance routines, trouble resolution, and TSR\work orders completion on the Avaya CS2100 VoIP/Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Hybrid, Geographically split system and system remotes to include the Media Gateway 9000s (MG9Ks)
The Avaya Network Integration Design Specialist will possess the skills required to repair all areas of the Avaya CS2100 and be able to complete all translations and routing changes and additions
The Avaya Network Integration Design Specialist will be responsible for the performance of preventive and remedial maintenance of the voice switching systems and components for maintenance and installation activities
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure and troubleshoot VoIP/ IPT networks
• Assist in developing and implementing technical operational procedures, standards, and templates for VoIP deployments to customer sites.
• Review and distribute daily and monthly OM reports (OMRS000, OMRS008, and OMPR210)
Investigate and correct any issues identified on daily and monthly reports
Maintain a 99% overall average on the OMRS000 report.
• Perform SERVORD programming for adds, moves, and changes to Meridian Business Sets, analog circuits, VTC and ISDN.
• Monitoring of fiber optic systems and network.
• Enter, track, and resolve any trouble tickets or routing maintenance tickets in NetPlus.
• Troubleshooting and repairing server hardware in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
• Maintaining both the physical and logical devices on servers.
• Apply Operating System (OS) such as Windows, patches to the servers once the released patches are certified for interoperability with the voice applications which reside on the servers.
• Perform daily database backups on servers.
• Setting up and troubleshooting Windows terminal services.
• Manage and implement disaster recovery plans in a Windows server environment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot TCP/IP connections
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in integrating both TDM and VoIP and implement Call Vectoring and Circuit Implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to determine, evaluate and diagnose call routing and performance and to recommend and implement solutions.
• Strong experience in Public Branch Exchange (PBX) and Automatic Call Distributor (ACD) health checks, access, administration, interrogation, and problem isolation
• Strong understanding of networking technologies including; Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Quality of Service (QoS), VoIP, various Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies (Frame Relay, Multiprotocol Label Switching [MPLS], etc)
• Working knowledge of VoIP traffic exchanges, setup, transitioning and troubleshooting.
• Expert-level knowledge routing protocols: Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) is required.
• Possess knowledge of wiring and be able to monitor the switch SCAN points that are used for various alarms.
• Familiarity of analog, digital, and IP phones to include but not limited to the following models: 9316, M5316, M5008, M5208, M5112, M5312, 6210, M522 ADDON, 1120E, and 1140E and 6210T Tone Commander.
• Possess knowledge of Windows based PC to include Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• General knowledge in the use of telecom tools and test equipment is required
Use troubleshooting tools and MAP to test and isolate problems on customer premise equipment, telephone, data, voicemail, and DS1 circuits.
• Understands and is knowledgeable of RAID
• Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work may be required.
• Additional work hours beyond normal duty hours may be necessary, at times, to complete the weekly workload based upon the discretion of the supervisor.
• On-call availability during off-hours in the event of service problems with the system.
• Will have a clear understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model Additional Requirements:
• Minimum Associates degree, two (2) year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Demonstrated extensive and varied working experience (Five [5] + years) with Avaya, or other VoIP telecom system, where a migration from TDM to VoIP was completed in an enterprise environment.
• Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+ certified.
• CompTIA Network+ certified.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Exam 70-290.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret level security clearance
