The James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems Excellence was established in 2010 to promote improvement efforts aimed at providing the best outcomes and safest care for the children and families we serve. The Anderson Center guides health services research at Cincinnati Children's and works to spread its impact into clinical practice and policy. On a national scale, the Center helps build and support sustainable collaborative Learning Networks that measurably improve health by bringing patients, families, clinicians and scientists together, and that use data for clinical care, improvement and research to achieve population outcomes at scale.

In support of our institution's compelling vision to be the leader in improving child health, we have created a comprehensive and robust quality improvement infrastructure. This infrastructure has been central to the widespread measurable improvements being achieved across our continuum of care. We also support external collaboratives, learning networks and improvement work in our community and at the regional and national levels in order to expand the impact on improving children's health more broadly.

Specific responsibilities will require in depth application of improvement science methodologies/tools, strategic planning, project management, team facilitation/education, consulting skills, change management and data measurement/analysis.

This is a highly visible role that requires an individual to be independent yet collaborative with other healthcare professionals and leaders at Cincinnati Children's and in community and hospital settings regionally and nationally. The successful candidate will be an experienced quality improvement professional who has demonstrated leadership skills and can deal with ambiguity, can be flexible as needed and has a sense of urgency with regards to bringing about change.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related discipline, engineering, business or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience applying quality improvement methodologies and tools, facilitating small and large group meetings, and coaching and mentoring multidisciplinary improvement teams, or equivalent experience. Proven and measurable results with strategic improvement projects are required. Experience with formal QI methodology such as PI, CQI, Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, or MFI. Experience as a coach with IHI Improvement methodology, remote/virtual team coaching & virtual facilitation experience highly desirable.
