The Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is one of the world’s deepest and best-resourced fixed income managers, with expertise across all major fixed income sectors, including niche markets. Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities manages a broad range of strategies, through funds and/or separate accounts, including broad market, long duration, stable value, intermediate high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra-short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages and tax-aware strategies.As an Investment Specialist, you will actively engage in maintaining and developing relationships between the investment desks, external clients and distribution teams. You will represent your investment team on business related matters, including, but not limited to servicing clients, marketing investment strategies, product development and sales/retention strategy. Therefore, you should share our passion for creating an exceptional client experience and managing our business within a team-based structure. The Investment Specialist’s (IS) role is to know the portfolios they represent as if they were the Portfolio Manager (“PM”). The IS should be fully integrated with the investment team to ensure a deep understanding of portfolios can be distilled and translated to internal partners and external clients alike. Job ResponsibilitiesWork in close partnership with PM(s), including on business strategy, product strategy and distribution for Investment Grade Credit strategies. While the primary focus will be on US-based corporate credit strategies, this role will be expected to cover global clients and work within a larger team of IS located globally. Accountable for client and RFP materials as well as internal marketing tools, and to promote the strategies they represent internally and externally. Engaging with the sales teams across distribution channels is essential to jointly develop distribution strategy, targets and tactical plans. Partner with the Client Advisors (“CA”) and, where appropriate, the consultant sales team, to pitch for new business. The IS responsibilities also include implementing guidelines and coordinating with other teams to ensure smooth on-boarding for new wins. Primary point of contact with the client on investment matters, i.e., portfolio results and positioning. As such, the IS must have complete credibility with both the PM and the client. Responsible for covering Investment Grade Credit (IG) strategies in New York alongside a small team of other Credit IS members located between New York, London and Mumbai Responsible for working closely with our client advisors across channels to represent IG Credit strategies and develop business Collaboration with product development is expectedEngage with key clients around macro views and represent the Credit investment team in various forumsRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills 6+ years of related experience in fixed incomeExtensive knowledge and experience in Global fixed income markets and specifically IG CreditExperience negotiating client guidelines and deliverables Demonstrated track record in developing business across a range of investor segments, including retail, institutional and sovereign.Developed interpersonal, presentation skills and ability to deal with clients and colleagues at all levelsStrong team playerExcellent time management - able to prioritize issues and respond in a timely mannerStrong communication skills, both written and oral Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skillsDegree, preferably in Finance, Economics or related subjects Strong knowledge of Bloomberg, PowerPoint, and advanced level of ExcelPython skillset would be additive
