About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the semi-monthly payroll process for 2900+ employees. As the Payroll Manager, you will lead a team of four Payroll professionals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local withholdings and review and reconcile quarterly and year end reports for accuracy.
  • Review and improve current payroll processes and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, payroll regulations, tax and deduction laws, and any new legislations impacting payroll.
  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll reports for finance department and provide additional reporting as requested.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Responsible for maintaining the administration of multi-state payroll data, tax compliance, reconciliations, and registering accounts in new states when necessary.
  • Research and resolve payroll issues and handle complaints or questions regarding paycheck discrepancies in a timely manner with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee and maintain multiple PTO plans and state sick laws.
  • Manage internal and external pay and 401k audits.
  • Work closely with other teams for successful Payroll roll-out for new Care Centers, oversee the training of new Care Centers on the Payroll processes.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of payroll management experience, demonstrating strong knowledge and understanding of all aspects of payroll, including current and future payroll laws and regulations, tax reciprocity, and basic structures for compensation, tax, and wages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive payroll information. Also required are excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize them while working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Must provide excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic, and be a team player.
