Job Description:

The Technical Product Owner plays a pivotal role in facilitating communication and collaboration between engineering, infrastructure, and product teams. This position entails close engagement with end-users and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for development. The Technical Product Owner is entrusted with crafting a cohesive vision for development projects, managing the product backlog, and prioritizing scope. This role necessitates profound domain expertise, as well as the ability to align priorities with stakeholder needs and project objectives. Key responsibilities include:

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Managing the product backlog, ensuring completeness of requirements for features and stories, and defining criteria for 'ready' and 'done' states.
  • Collaborating with Business and Technology stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and translate them into product requirements, while also grooming the product backlog.
  • Analyzing processes and systems in detail, working closely with the development team to identify areas for automation and improvement.
  • Building user stories according to business requirements, reviewing them with relevant teams, and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Possessing technical competencies to comprehend architecture and integration across multiple systems, and articulating technical stories effectively.
  • Demonstrating experience with middleware solutions like MuleSoft, ESB, or ASB to write technical stories and documentation.
  • Analyzing existing software applications to document functionality, business rules, and data flows.
  • Developing user stories from solution architect designs and customer requirements, including data interface details.
  • Translating high-level requirements into actionable products and features, creating work items in backlog.
  • Prioritizing stories, epics, and themes to align with product strategy and maximize value.

Collaboration:

  • Working with team members and stakeholders to enhance overall development value stream.
  • Facilitating preparation and readiness for Program Increment (PI) Planning and other ART activities.
  • Collaborating with the Scrum Master in preparation for PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in technology, business, or project management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a product owner or technical product owner.
  • Strong understanding of SAFe Agile portfolio practices.
  • Working understanding of Azure Service Bus and MongoDB or similar middleware and repositories.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills for understanding complex business processes and systems.
  • Experience in creating technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and translate business requirements effectively.
