The NCIS program is searching for a Senior SharePoint Administrator to join their team in Quantico, VA. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of over 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the Department of Navy (DON) component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. NCIS is one of several DoD criminal investigative and intelligence organizations headquartered together at the Russell-Knox Building (RKB) aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. Known collectively as Military Department Investigation Agencies (MDIA), the individual organizations include NCIS, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID), and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This position is part of the IT Technology Operations division within the NCIS ITD organization and performs the following responsibilities/function As a SharePoint Administrator you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on the SharePoint Administrator joining our team to assist the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s primary role to conduct and resolve criminal CI, CT, and cyber matters within the Department of Navy. How a SharePoint Administrator will Make an Impact: Provides Microsoft SharePoint 2019 administrator support for a large customer within the DoD community
Provide critical problem solving and advanced troubleshooting including site problems, address site permission issues, creation and configuration of sites and sub-sites, assist in definition of site resources
Plans for and install service packs, hotfixes, updates and patches during off-peak time as required and communicate any downtime to business
Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss
Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data
Reviewing usage and activity reports and adjusting ensure optimized user-experiences
Provide security operations or coordinates security operations functions in support of cybersecurity accreditation-risk management framework (RMF) continuous monitoring process
Administrator will be tasked with assisting in the deployment and maintenance of Microsoft SharePoint 2019 architectures
Perform SharePoint 2019/2016 farm upgrade from SharePoint 2013
What You’ll Need to Succeed: Education: BS or equivalent
Required Experience: 5+ years of experience with SharePoint Administration
Required Technical Skills: Experience with Snap Manager, AvePoint DocAve products
Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and Office 365
Microsoft SharePoint Administration certificate in multiple versions
Security+ - Current DoD 8570 Level II
Security Clearance Level Required: Minimum Secret required to start
Prefer Top Secret to start
Must be eligible to obtain Top Secret with SCI Required Skills and Abilities: Experience and knowledge with SharePoint Online administration
Experience with Information Assurance practices and principles (ex. STIGs)
Experience administering Windows Servers, Active Directory including ADFS, DNS, SMTP, Network Load Balancing, Windows Firewall, Event Viewer Performance Monitoring and PowerShell scripting
Experience configuring and maintaining SharePoint Enterprise search, index configurations, and scheduling
Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a SharePoint environment
In-depth knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS) and its relationship with .Net Framework, ASP.Net, Application Pools, configuration files and how IIS handles user authentication
Location: Hybrid 2 days/week
