Summary You will serve as a ELECTRICAL FIRE ALARM MECHANIC in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Duties * You will operate instruments or equipment (e.g., transistor tester, oscilloscope, logic compactor, laptop computer, digital and meter-type vom, alarm eppom programmers) for alarm systems and special purpose test sets. * You will maintain or modify functional subsystems integrated within fire protection alarm systems. * You will select and use tools to install and repair fire alarms or electronic systems, components, and devices. * You will perform functional tests on subsystems as part of a scheduled maintenance program. * You will perform overhaul, calibration, installation, modification, or alignment of sensor subsystems and logic subsystems. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
