Executive Assistant with Security Clearance

Duties * Makes arrangements for executive level travel, coordinates schedules of visits, notifies organization and officials to be visited, and submits associated documentation upon return. * Receives all correspondence relating to calendar and travel requirements for the Command Group Senior Leader, replies to mail not requiring the direct attention of the Command Group Senior Leader. * Maintain office files and directives of interest to the Command Group Senior Leader. * Process large volumes of correspondence to meet critical schedules of the Command Group Senior Leader. * Utilize office automation equipment and various software programs to prepare reports, speeches, memoranda, directives, and finished correspondence for signature. * Composes a wide-range of administrative correspondence to include but not limited to Star Notes and Letters of Recommendations. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. * This position requires a pre-employment drug test and random testing thereafter. * Incumbent may be required to work irregular hours during crisis or other short notice operations. * Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes making arrangements for travel to include submission of travel vouchers; preparing correspondence in final form for signature; maintaining calendar of official and social engagements; and scheduling major events, social activities, and speeches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
