Position Title: Lead Android Developer

Job Summary: As a Lead Android Developer with over 15 years of experience, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our Android applications. You will lead a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable mobile solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Android architecture, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring and growing a development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Android developers.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative development environment.
    • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  2. Project Management:

    • Oversee the full lifecycle of Android application development from concept to deployment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Design, and QA.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  3. Technical Expertise:

    • Design and architect complex Android applications.
    • Stay updated with the latest Android technologies and trends.
    • Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  4. Strategy and Planning:

    • Define the technical roadmap for Android development.
    • Contribute to the overall mobile strategy and product roadmap.
    • Identify and evaluate new tools and technologies to improve development efficiency.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all Android applications meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
    • Develop and enforce coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation practices.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
    • Present technical concepts and progress to senior management and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15+ years of software development experience with at least 10 years focused on Android development.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Java and Kotlin.
    • Strong understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
    • Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and APIs.
    • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
    • Solid understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns.
    • Experience with continuous integration and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Leadership Skills:

    • Proven experience in leading and managing development teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.
  • Knowledge of backend technologies and services.
  • Experience in the complete lifecycle of Android app development, including publishing in the Google Play Store.
  • Prior experience in a lead or architect role in large-scale projects.
