Duties * Perform the duties of Flight Simulator Training Instructor and/or Instrument Examiner (simulator only) and I/O duties in the CH-47 Chinook Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulator (TFPS). * Use approved evaluation guidelines. * Review, revise, and develops training test and instructional material through evaluation of requirements and applies these to training periods and determines individual and group proficiency in continuation training. * Complete an annual evaluation in the simulator cockpit as a flight simulator training instructor and/or instrument examiner (simulator only) and computer console operator. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. * This position requires possession of a valid state driver's license. * Employee will be required to work non-standard hours (after regular duty hours and weekends) as necessary to accomplish mission objectives. * This position requires the ability to lift 30 lbs. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: 1) Experience conducting training and/or evaluating rated aviators in In Accordance With (IAW) Aircraft Training Manual (ATM) advanced techniques and procedures for rotary wing aircraft using instruments and battle-roster crews; or 2) Experience overseeing/directing operations of the CH-47 flight simulator. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: * Instructional Delivery and Learner Development
