BAE Systems is seeking a lead systems engineer with at least 10 years of engineering experience and at least 2 years of recent systems engineering specific experience in system design, system architecture, requirements management and cloud architectures to join a team environment on a distributed program. This is a hands-on leadership role on a multi-disciplinary team. Assigned tasks may include analysis of needs, the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), working with customers and other team members, preparing user interface mock-ups, technical documentation in Jira and confluence, generation of agile capabilities & user stories, backlog prioritization and management, sprint planning, customer engagement, close interaction with software and system test engineers on the team to achieve program objectives, and architecture views development in MBSE. Perform analysis and tasks at concurrent stages to include technical planning, system design, software implementation, system integration, verification and validation. Because of the need for intermittent in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform a portion of work onsite, this position will be considered hybrid. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility as well as remotely, when applicable. #IJS Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's Degree or higher in a computer/engineering related field
* Engineering experience (at least 10 years)
* System's Engineering experience (at least 2-4 recent years)
* Leadership experience leading engineering teams on agile programs (at least 2 years)
* Must hold an active Secret clearance * Must have experience working on Cloud programs, preferably AWS
* Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities
* The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical leads to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Understanding and application of modern software development and systems engineering practices, design principles, techniques, and technologies
* Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings
* Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces and geospatial data Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Excellent team player who is willing to contribute in any capacity
* Able to deliver in agile sprint cycles
* Ability to innovate, evaluate and research new technologies while staying abreast of industry trends
* SAFE for Teams certified - Scrum Master or Leadership roles
* Full Life-Cycle Systems Engineering Development experience
* Experience with issue tracking systems such as JIRA or GitLab
* Experience with end-user acceptance testing
* Experience using Cameo or MagicDraw for MBSE development Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
