A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Auxiliary Engineer: * Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as auxiliary systems, HVAC&R, piping systems. * Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components. * Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases. * Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. * Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration. * Conduct marine engineering analysis. * Create graphical representations of structures and systems. * Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems. * Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications. * Prepare technical reports for internal use. Job Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering * Ability to obtain a secret clearance At least 5+ years of experience: * Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics) * Working with Microsoft Office suite * Experience with Auto-CAD * Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
