We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our largest clients for a position of Control Engineer Control System - PLC, to work in Rocky Mount, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize controls hardware and software application expertise to specify, review, and approve designs for new equipment or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Implement technologies to facilitate the transfer of information within local production processes or into databases for operational enhancements.
  • Recognize and address controls-related hazards in manufacturing environments to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Analyze electrical control systems to identify issues and implement solutions to restore proper operation.
  • Implement changes to automate manufacturing processes using various technologies and programming techniques.
  • Utilize digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment, and performance for data-driven decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply prognostic techniques to predict and prevent equipment downtime, ensuring optimal manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and implement control system security measures to safeguard manufacturing controls and systems from unauthorized access or cyber threats.
  • Select and apply appropriate sensor technology for accurate measurements and analysis, contributing to enhanced control system performance.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in controls engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of controls networking technologies.
  • Understanding of controls safety standards and protocols.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting electrical control systems.
  • Familiarity with factory automation and control systems.
  • Ability to perform manufacturing analysis-led design using digital tools.
  • Experience in applying prognostics techniques for equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of controls system security measures.
  • Skill in selecting and applying sensor technology for measurement and analysis purposes.
