The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst / System Administrator (SysAd) will operate, provide instruction, and perform system maintenance on various training to simulation models. Currently, these training simulation models are Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE), Combined Arms Command and Control Upgrade System (CACCTUS), and MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS). The M&S Analyst is responsible for the interpretation, design and development of simulated exercises utilizing the M&S suite of programs. The M&S Analyst provides instruction to Marines on the use of M&S Systems to replicate combat operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate, provide instruction, and maintain various training to simulation models with respect to the fires warfighting function. * Maintain proficiency as a M&S Analyst in DVTE and MTWS. * Provide systems administration support to the Battle Simulation Center (BSC) and Combined Arms Staff Trainer (CAST) with tasks such as: planning, installation, operation, and maintenance to support day\u2010to\u2010day operations and training events and exercises. * Maintain military modeling & simulation systems and associated workstations by configuring and troubleshooting each system and respective workstation per supporting technical documentation in a classroom training and Combat Operations Center collective staff training environment. * Install, configure, optimize, maintain and operate network servers, hubs, routers, and switches. * Provide end-user IT support for all BSC/CAST operating systems, peripherals, and applications. * Participate in and conducts reviews and structured walk-through of simulation events and training, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements. * Provide analysis during exercises and attends conferences and meetings at both the resident site and other locations off-site. * As new simulation models or upgrades to current simulation models are introduced, the M&S section is required to train, operate, and maintain the new model or upgrade. * Translate operations orders into simulation databases. * Conduct pre-event tests and evaluation of supporting databases, and parametric data. * Conduct post-event critique and analysis employing various after action review systems. * Perform other related duties incidental to the work described. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Minimum five years of operational military experience in combat arms, with a focus on afire and maneuver. * Familiar with USMC and DoD cybersecurity compliancy, instructions, policies and regulations * Demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships, as measured by actual operational force employment experience. * Completion of a military level career school preferred, officer or NCO. * Direct participation in real-world operations desired. CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in support of rapidly changing scheduling and staffing. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Must meet current DoD Cyber Security Workforce program requirements for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher. * Must possess and maintain training and certifications sufficient to be granted privileged access to Marine Corps information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) through documented completion of required training and certification. SECURITY CLEARANCE * Security clearance at the NATO Secret level or above is required.
