Qualifications Selective Placement Factor (SPF): This position has an SPF which is current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizes engineering practices, techniques, and equipment to solves complex problems with commercial/industrial HVAC systems; 2) Directs equipment to be monitored by oil or vibrational analysis, defines equipment operation conditions, determine root cause of critical equipment failures, and recommend system improvements to include drawings, cost estimates, parts and materials. recommends; 3) Uses technical expertise to develop plans, designs and calculations for overhaul, repair and modernization of critical equipment; and 4) Develop, review, update, and maintain all facility sustainment policies and procedures, provide training to all levels of the organization and assist with planning and budgeting of personnel, define positions, roles and responsibilities and funding for programs. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
