Traffic Management Specialist with Security Clearance

Duties * Serve as shift lead as the emergency operations center during emergency situations and makes key decisions on actions to take. * Research shipment statuses, recognize deviations in normal shipment procedures or activity, and initiate appropriate emergency response notification. * Gather carrier performance data and populates carrier performance metrics tools maintained by the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). * Conduct studies to determine Command capabilities under various emergency situations. * Provide training to new personnel on the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). * Communicate with State and Local authorities, and commercial carriers. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. * The incumbent may be required to work nonstandard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled. * This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. * During a national emergency or mobilization, this "Key" position cannot be vacated as it's crucial for organizational function. The incumbent must be exempt from active duty recall and trained to sustain base operations. * Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights. * This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
