Summary You will serve as an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the NAVAIRWARCENADLKE, SE Department, PEO U&W Division, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Branch (BL24100). This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Duties * You will analyze electrical/ electronic system or equipment malfunctions to evaluate and recommend repairs required to restore to operational readiness and specification and technical requirements. * You will participate in meetings to brief management and program managers on project results, status, and potential problems. * You will resolve technical conflicts involving unique situations with aircraft or weapons systems * You will develop written electrical engineering studies in support of the functional and operational requirements of the project. * You will develop test procedures or methods to evaluate electrical or electronic system requirements or performance. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional ELECTRICAL ENGINEER 1) Providing avionic/electrical subject matter expertise in matters related to the design, development, analysis, testing, and fielding procedures of support equipment; 2) Interpreting program objectives to determine specific and measurable engineering goals, procedures, and project milestones in order to complete work according to technical requirements, budget restrictions, and project schedules; 3) Conducting investigations and analysis of undefined factors and conditions to determine the nature of the problems to devise a solution; 4) Communicating effectively to convince or settle matters involving controversial issues; 5) Interfacing and influencing/negotiating with internal and external members of the organization. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
