Position Responsibilities: * Apply standardized mathematical formulas, principles, and methodology to technological problems in engineering and physical sciences in relation to specific industrial and research objectives, processes, equipment, and products. * Provide scientific subject matter expertise to better inform S&T investment decisions, technology maturation, and transition readiness. * Perform cross-discipline technology scouting activities to identify existing and emerging technologies that correspond to customer needs and/or provide a technological advantage to the warfighter; leverage government, industry, academia, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and University Affiliated Research Center networks to identify these technologies. * Conduct research, analyses, or experiments in laboratories for quality or process control, or to develop new products or knowledge. * Exercise a high degree of originality and sound judgement in formulating, evaluating, and correlating broad engineering/scientific concepts, guiding the analysis of unique problems, and developing new and improved techniques and methods. * Interpret, organize, and execute projects concerned with unique or controversial items having a major effect on the programs. * Apply intensive and diverse knowledge to problems and makes independent decisions. Position Requirements: * MA/MS Degree in a physical science field (Including Physics, Atmosphere and Space, Chemistry, and Materials) * Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years additional work experience relevant to labor category's functional description may be substituted for a Master's Degree * Over ten (10) years' experience performing work related to Physical Science.
