Summary You will serve as a Joint Fires & Targeting Specialist within HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND. Duties * Serve as a Joint Fires and Targeting Staff Officer in the Joint Fires Element at USINDOPACOM * Plan and coordinate Strategic and Operational Joint Fires in the USINDOPACOM AOR during competition, crisis, and conflict. * Prepare Joint Fires and Targeting Products and conduct Joint Fires briefings at the action officer to FO/GO level. * Train and educate staff and leadership at USINDOPACOM on the Joint Fires and Targeting processes. * Develop theater strategic response options during crisis action planning.. Qualifications GS-13 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1.) Coordinating all aspects of theater strategic fires to include targeting and attack policy, strategic target selection, and targeting guidance for the employment of operational fires; 2.) Developing theater strategic response options during crisis action planning; 3.) Coordinating fires and targeting related support from other commands and agencies; 4.) Reviewing and evaluating functional component plans to ensure that fires are in support of higher level objectives. GS-12 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1.) Assisting with the coordination of theater strategic targeting; 2.) Ensuring contingency plans are coordinated in all targeting operations; 3.) Analyzing targeting plans of service components to ensure operations are in support of plans; and 4) Training staff on theater strategic targeting process.
