At the heart of every successful operation lies a robust and secure network, especially when it comes to safeguarding vital aircraft communication intelligence. As the Engineering Manager of the Network Management Systems and Applications team entrusted with managing this network, you hold the key to ensuring the AGN System unites the flow of data cross the aircraft, airline, and ground applications.

This role offers the opportunity to exercise your leadership skills by setting the standards and direction for a group of highly skilled and driven engineers who will be engineering the modernization and overhaul of the world’s largest air-to-ground airline operation and air traffic communication system over the next 5 years. YOU will play a pivotal role in this high growth and high visibility area at Collins Aerospace.

This position is based in Annapolis MD with onsite presence required 4 days a week.

What YOU will do:

  • You will develop a high performing team of engineers through coaching, mentoring, engagement, individual development plans and hiring strategies.
  • You will be responsible for the development, test and implementation of new network management solutions and technologies as well as capacity and performance application solutions and technologies in support of the worldwide AGN infrastructure comprised of multiple network distribution/datacenters and 3000+ edge locations.
  • You will execute the portion of the annual Engineering Operating Plan (EOP) and Strategic Financial Plan (SFP) assigned to the team by the product leaders with predictable project performance.  
  • You will effectively roll out changing Engineering practices in alignment with Collins Aerospace Values and Behaviors.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience managing an engineering team to include executing talent development plans, staffing and resourcing plans as well as hiring strategies. 
  • Prior experience in capacity and performance monitoring on a large-scale network  
  • Prior experience in applications and appliance integration concepts, and techniques  
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active CCNA or CCNP certification or familiarity with Cisco networking products configuration and operations.
  • Understanding of formal configuration management processes.
  • Familiarity with daily operations of a data center or large NOC environment.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
