Pay - $25 to $30 per hour depending on experience
The Extrusion Line Operator must be able to operate Production Equipment unassisted, complete and maintain accurate/concise records, troubleshoot, and report all malfunctions to machines or products being produced immediately (adjusting as necessary) and ensure good quality product (per specifications) at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery to ensure the efficiency and quality specifications of the production, using tools such as calipers.
- Ensure all necessary materials are available, and machines are calibrated according to specifications.
- Assist with Lacing the lines.
- Recognize problems or deviations with the machines and report them to Production Manager.
- Monitor feed and mixing systems for proper operations.
- Apply correct formulas and rates for each product type produced.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes machine operation in the event of malfunction, quality problems, or start-up difficulties.
- Audits products at the workstation and assures that they meet the customer's quality standards and are packaged properly before moving to the finished goods area.
- Calibrating mixing bins correctly for daily products.
- Performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain safe working and good housekeeping practices and abide by the company's safety rules.

- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, and/or Experience: 2+ years' experience with extrusion equipment, manufacturing environment experience, and/or training.
- Verbal Communication - Listens and gets clarification.

- Computer knowledge - Basic computer skills needed [including the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and other tools]
- Solid knowledge of proper methods of stacking, storing, lifting, and loading parts and supplies
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events.
- Personal protective equipment - Safety eyewear and earplugs are required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. Noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is mandatory. Contact with liquid paint, solvents, greases, and oils.
- Must complete Forklift and Scissor Lift operator's training.
