Raytheon’s Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department part of Integrated Electrical Solution mission area, is seeking an experienced firmware design engineer to work onsite in Goleta, CA to design and develop embedded firmware technologies for the airborne military applications.  The selected candidate will work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Working in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.  
  • Activities include detailed FPGA design, embedded systems, and VHDL/Verilog development. 
  • Specific tasks include writing VHDL/Verilog, utilization of Vivado/Quartus tools, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.

A minimum of two (2) years of Engineering experience with any combination of the following:

  • Embedded electronics VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Schematic capture, signal processing, RF, and FPGA design
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 2 years of experience with design, debug, and test electronics hardware.
  • 2 years of design experience with engineering tools  
  • Experience with allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level.
  • Experience in a production environment.

Additional Details:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
