Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • PALS are required within six months of hire
  • One (1) year of Pediatric experience required
  • Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • Previous Pediatric Acute Care and Pediatric Critical Care experience strongly preferred
  • Pediatric certifications preferred

Department/Unit Summary

The RN utilizes nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of pediatric patients from admission to department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in clinical setting, acts as patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. Knowledgeable in clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.
