Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday

Overview

Logistics is about getting the product to the customer in the most efficient, timely and cost effective manner. A logistics coordinator plays a key role in fulfilling manufacturers' promises to their customers and in meeting those customers' expectations. They are responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organization.

Primary Responsibility

  • Directing all transportation activities for our international family of companies.
  • Maintaining transportation relationships for all divisions.
  • Setting global transportation guidelines and monitoring compliance.
  • Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Establish and monitor logistics key performance indicators.
Secondary Responsibility
  • Processing purchase orders or miscellaneous shipments into the Sage ERP system.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
Support Responsibility
  • Work with purchasing as it relates to international shipments, ISF filing, International documentation, through to delivery of goods.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through multiple departments
  • Must be fluent with Microsoft Office products, Sage 100 experience a plus
  • Experience with a logistics focused on the manufacturing industry would be a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
  • Primarily assigned to a warehouse office but at time will be necessary to visit the warehouse or plant.
