We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Systems Engineering - Mission Management Modernization Lead, for one of our premier Programs on our Aurora, Colorado campus.

As the Mission Management Modernization Lead, you will lead a large team of employees distributed across multiple locations.  This role manages cost & schedule with an expected budget exceeding $10M+ annually.   You will work closely with the customer to shape the scope, modernization roadmap, and perform cost estimation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).   

In this role you will be responsible for the modernization investments cost, schedule, and ensuring the come together technically for each delivery. You will work directly with Program leadership, Systems and Software Teams and other Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL’s) and external stakeholders to execute the effort.

What You Will Do

  • Work in an Agile program environment and oversee and provide direction to the team consisting of 50+ individuals
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on scope definition and cost estimation
  • Prepare and present technical briefs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify technical issues impacting the investment and collaborate with others to drive solutions to closure
  • Develop and maintain a modernization roadmap in coordination with our customer as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, programs, customers, and cloud provider architects to ensure consistent execution of cloud-based systems.
  • Work with program technical leads on architectural assessments of cloud-based systems to identify and address any vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, and improved resiliency
  • Work in a classified lab on site in Aurora, Colorado or Richardson, TX

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, or related Technical field with a minimum 12+ years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Active and transferable Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Previous experience leading Agile/DevSecOps teams
  • Experience leading Engineering Teams on Defense and/or Intelligence Programs with regards to driving cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Experience providing technical Systems Engineering plans for a modern, cloud based, software programs
  • Experience developing technical roadmaps with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with any of the following: Cloud technologies and migration to the Cloud, Containerization and databases, Automation (Build, Deploy, Test), Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and/or Evaluation of COTS/FOSS
  • Excellent customer and executive presentation and communication skills
  • Experience ensuring consistency across an integrated product team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities as well as demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with management and individual contributors

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
