Bring your manufacturing experience to this unique and growing company Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer located in Sioux Falls, MN. We are seeking candidates for Brake Press Operator roles on the 1st shift. Hours for this position are from 6:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Fridays as needed. Compensation for these direct hire opportunities is $19.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information
What a Brake Press Operator will do:
  • Operate the press brake machine with assistance from the Senior Operator or Supervisor
  • Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches
  • Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints
  • Check height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments
  • Identify and produce parts for assembly operations
  • Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications
  • Perform spot inspections of parts. ? Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures
  • Complete and maintain paperwork
  • Set up light gauge metal
  • Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum, and regular steel)
  • Ensure the machine is calibrated and cleaned and the workspace is maintained to meet safety guidelines

 What you need to be a Brake Press Operator:
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background are a plus
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press, and/or punch operations, including basic setup, is desired
  • Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
  • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids
  • Ability to work with several types of metal forming constraints with guidance
  • Ability to operate a forklift
