What You Will Do:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer II to join our team. In this role you will be part of the continued development of an advanced, leading-edge, hybrid software system providing technical guidance and team communication. As the Systems Engineer II, you will function in a technical role in a SAFe Agile development environment and will effectively work and communicate with engineers on the agile development teams. This position is for State College PA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • The Systems Engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering discipline, to include requirements decomposition into software functions, system performance analysis and trade studies, oversight of software development and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements closure. 
  • The system engineer will interact with the agile development team regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated within the system capabilities.
  • This role performs the analysis necessary to define and document requirements for software releases; work with the Requirements Manager to ensure up to date requirements traceability matrices are in place; assist in the creation/management of a project schedule based on development and release activities.
  • The candidate must also possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the appropriate levels of the organization and drive processes to successful completion in support of schedules.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Active TS/SCI
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated system engineering lifecycle experience developing large software systems.
  • Support of agile software development activities, including requirements specification and integration test and verification activities (full life-cycle)
  • Ability to maintain technical cost and schedule for systems engineering and software integration activities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to articulate intent, frame requirements, set priorities, develop practical methods, and align resources to meet goals.
  • Experience interacting with both programmatic and technical presentations

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background with end user mission experience 
  • Experience in a technical role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Experience with cloud-based S/W architectures and systems
  • Experience developing MBSE and DoDAF operational views and for overview details
  • AWS cloud experience - AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience, as a System Engineer
  • Experience using modeling resources and methodologies like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification – Linux
  • Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of COTS / FOSS applications

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
