Description:
The client is has several ongoing and upcoming projects related to the customer experience and loyalty program. They need a Lead QA Tester who can lead test case writing, defect reporting, test case completion percentages, web and mobile testing, creating a regression suite, be an advocate for the end customer and be rigorous and take initiative to get things done and identify gaps/opportunities.
Right now, they are all Manual, but they'd like to find someone who understands automation, so they can help them lean into automation over time.
Need someone who has IDEALLY supported customer loyalty programs before; if not, someone who has dealt with customer apps/sites and use cases such as how to sign in to a website, how to sign up for a program, and other customer experiences.
The Quality Assurance analyst is instrumental throughout the lifecycle of a project. The analyst will seek to understand both business requirements and technical software development requirements and tasks and will work to translate those requirements into a test strategy and plan and ultimately into test cases. The analyst will function as a lead by crafting the plan to oversee test execution, report on testing outcomes and open defects, and facilitate prioritization and retesting efforts. As a member of the team they will also perform much of the testing themselves and may train other analysts on testing procedures. This role operates in a modified agile setting, with knowledge of how to execute and track testing within agile tools like Azure Dev ops and report on progress in the context of a waterfall delivery.
Essential Functions:
• Define and drive Test Strategy & Plan for Projects
• Collaborates with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are testable and well defined
• Translates business requirements into actionable test cases and test steps
• Define and drive automation roadmap and implementation
• Defines test schedule through collaboration with Project Manager
• Manually test and/or validate development tasks during the release cycle
• Perform End to End Test plan and execution
• Create and maintain defect status reporting and facilitate prioritization sessions with product owners
• Design, develop, and maintain product specific test cases
• Manage test data and test environments as required
• Work with other team members to identify test and coverage plans
• Coordinate with other technical teams in identifying test coverage requirements
• Execute integration and regression testing as required
• Support the product release team as required
• Role models the use of standards and methodologies around testing management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 5+ years experience in a software testing role or related discipline
• Experience in automation testing
• Experience in stress and load testing
• Experience in functional testing
• Experience in API and integration testing
• Hands-on experience testing web, mobile, and desktop applications. Testing in Point of Sale Labs desired.
• Experience in defining test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience in validating software specifications against business requirements
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline or related work experience
• Experience in identifying high value test areas in software products
• Hands-on experience using relational databases concepts
• Experience testing/leveraging cloud technologies would be considered an asset
• Experience with Git, Postman, Scripting, Event Viewer, jMeter
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to research new areas of the product independently
• Azure Dev Ops, Testing Modules
• SQL
• Adept at creating and managing defect management plans and summaries
