Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Supply Chain & Logistics Lead will manage and direct the daily execution of transportation logistics of parts to and from subcontractors, as well as shipments of parts to customers from our Commerce facility and from third party vendors. In addition to logistics responsibilities, the position is also responsible for production planning and scheduling, managing the perpetual inventory system, and providing necessary assistance to the Materials Team.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and direct the activities of shipping and receiving in the Commerce facility, while working within the confines of a union environment
  • Coordinate the most economical and/or expedient transportation services for Spincraft parts to be delivered to domestic and international customers or to third party subcontract vendors.
  • Execute the flow of paperwork of incoming receipts and outgoing shipments, and ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurately
  • Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and coordinate purchases of shipping supplies and materials to ensure customer delivery requirements are met
  • Create and own job routing instructions to the Manufacturing employees, including maintaining and documenting changes in a timely fashion
  • Analyze supply and demand to release jobs in economical quantities with adequate due dates to support on-time delivery
  • Monitor status of work-in-process jobs to identify problems with shortages or overages, and promptly communicate with appropriate parties to develop prompt solutions
  • Utilizing our ERP system, manage the efficient flow of jobs through the production facilities after non-conformances are identified, including job splits where appropriate
  • Execute a wholistic knowledge of the product lifecycle from product launch to shipment
  • Post inventory-related transactions promptly; including receipts to stock and issuances to jobs.
  • Review completed jobs for missing transactions and post transactions accordingly.
  • Manage the filing / paperwork flow of job routings upon completion
  • Manage the inventory of tooling and implement/maintain a system for locating tools
  • Assist with regular cycle counts of WIP items
  • Prepare for and participate in an efficient annual physical inventory with minimal quantity adjustments
  • Manage the disposal of scrap materials including sending to salvage yard regularly

Team Responsibilities:

  • Attend department and company meetings
  • Participate in vendor meetings, trade shows, trainings, etc. as needed
  • Provide necessary support to the Beloit Facility as needed
  • Work in tandem with Manufacturing team, delegating daily logistic tasks as needed

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or other related degree
  • 3-5 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-4 years of production planning experience, preferably in a job shop environment
  • Proficient knowledge of international shipping requirements
  • Ability to flex schedule to accommodate business needs, particularly the last week of each month

  • Strong preference for prior contract manufacturing experience, as well as third party logistics
