Graphic Designer for the Home Décor Market (Remote Optional)

Industry: Importing, distribution, and ecommerce

Location: Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL

Schedule: Generally 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Time with some flexibility

Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience + a full benefit package (see below for details)

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Five (5)+ years of professional design experience beyond school
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Website Design, Fine Arts, Illustration or a related field
  • A strong portfolio of previous work
  • Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite) and techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity
  • Intermediate or advanced user of Microsoft Office

About us: Golden Lighting, a nationally recognized brand, is a growing company of about 35+ employees specializing in the design and manufacture of residential lighting products. About the position: The Graphic Designer will be a steward of the brand portfolio and maintain a consistent brand voice across all print and digital assets. This role is critical in bringing the brand to life and will ensure standards are maintained across all projects. They will be responsible for the creative development of a variety of sales & marketing elements that deliver on brand strategy and positioning. These materials will capture attention, communicate the right message, and inspire the target audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software. Essential Tasks of the Graphic Designer:

  • Conceptualizing Visuals:
    • Understand project requirements and translate them into concepts.
    • Develop creative concepts and design solutions for various projects, including marketing materials, branding collateral, digital assets, videos, packaging, and presentations.
    • Responsible for the planning, design and printing of all literature, including the 400+ page annual product catalog.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product design, e-commerce and sales to understand project requirements and objectives.
    • Manage the entire photography process with our overseas team from photo samples to finished images.
  • Brand Alignment:
    • Ensure that all designs align with the brand identity, guidelines, and objectives.
    • Maintain consistency in visual elements across all platforms and materials.
  • Visual Communication:
    • Create visual assets that effectively communicate messages, evoke emotions, and engage target audiences.
    • Use design elements such as typography, color, imagery, and layout to convey the intended message and enhance user experience.
    • Develop compelling graphic and image content for the company's website and social media
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
    • Stay updated with the latest design trends, techniques, and software updates.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
    • Organize files, assets, and documentation for each project to ensure efficient workflow and easy accessibility

Requirements

This job might be for you if you:

  • Five (5)+ years of professional design experience beyond school
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Website Design, Fine Arts, Illustration or a related field
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite) and techniques
  • Solid understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and composition
  • Time Management and multi-tasking ability
  • Demonstrate initiative, are conscientious, and provide complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Are self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
  • Have the confidence to solve problems and be creative
  • Have the ability to build excellent working relationships internally and externally to achieve goals
  • Are able to effectively communicate your thoughts and ideas
  • Can successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Bonus
    • Experience with CGI, AI or other advanced visual technologies.
