Strong understanding of hybrid workload placement - able to rationalize which workloads fit LinuxONE vs. cloud based on performance, cost, and compliance. Integration architecture knowledge - MQ, middleware, file transfer (Connect:Direct, Sterling, CA ESP), and application interconnects between LinuxONE and distributed/cloud systems. Familiarity with database platforms - MongoDB (supported on LinuxONE), YugaByte (unsupported), and Exadata; must be able to advise on compatibility, licensing, and performance trade-offs. Security, Compliance & Cyber Tooling PCI DSS v4 comprehension - including segmentation, encryption, access control, and audit logging requirements as applied to LinuxONE. Security control mapping - ability to translate LinuxONE's hypervisor and OS-level controls to client's cyber framework and SOC operations. Familiarity with enterprise security tooling - vulnerability management, monitoring, SIEM/log integration, and agent deployment across s390x. Network and system hardening expertise - implementing VLAN segmentation, firewall zoning, and secure configuration baselines for multi-datacenter environments. Experience with day 1/day 2 operational models - monitoring, observability, alerting, and patch management tuned for compliance readiness. Infrastructure & Network Engineering Network design and segmentation - VLAN mapping, routing, cabling, and integration of production/non-production networks across multiple data centers. Multi-datacenter high-availability planning - failover topologies, replication, and cross-site latency management. Capacity and performance modeling - workload sizing, benchmarking, and performance optimization on LinuxONE. Knowledge of OpenShift administration and automation - for provisioning, configuration, and CI/CD pipeline integration on LinuxONE. Solution Design & Delivery Leadership End-to-end architecture ownership - spanning infrastructure, application, and security domains. Production readiness and operationalization planning - ensuring all platform components meet RTO/RPO and compliance objectives before go-live. Cross-team coordination - bridging gaps between infrastructure, (migration), and client's cyber teams. Documentation & communication - producing architecture diagrams, design decisions, and implementation playbooks. Ability to conduct architectural assessments - evaluate tool compatibility, performance posture, and cost implications. Soft Skills & Delivery Context Client-facing communication - capable of interfacing with senior stakeholders across client's infrastructure, security, and application domains.
