Controls Engineer (Industrial Wastewater Treatment | Automation Expert )

Our client, a dynamic business unit of a publicly traded specialty chemicals company, is seeking a talented Controls Specialist to join their innovative team. This role offers the exciting opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge control systems for wastewater treatment, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:


  • ️ Design PLC-based control systems for new and existing wastewater treatment systems
  • Develop PLC/HMI programs and create electrical drawings
  • ️ Manage projects and collaborate with manufacturing and electrical teams
  • Provide over-the-phone troubleshooting for control systems
  • ✈️ Occasional travel for design reviews, installations, and on-site troubleshooting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and documentation


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred (AS in EE, Automation, or related field accepted)
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial control systems design and PLC programming
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication abilities for customer and peer interactions
  • Knowledge of industry standards (NEC, NEMA, UL) is a plus
