Clayton Services is searching for a Logistics Coordinator to join a thriving company in Southwest Houston. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management while ensuring timely delivery, process improvements, resource optimization, and compliance with company policies and regulations.


Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/hour


Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding logistics-related matters.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Plan, schedule, and track the shipment of final products based on customer requirements, product availability, and transportation costs.
  • Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to support logistics operations.
  • Identify opportunities for resource optimization or reallocation to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Lead initiatives to implement process improvements within the logistics function.
  • Resolve any issues or delays that arise during transportation or delivery.
  • Maintain logistics-related records and reports, addressing discrepancies as they occur.
  • Prepare shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs documentation.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory stock, establishing item counts in the system, including minimum and maximum stock levels.
  • Coordinate and perform physical inventories to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all inventory reports.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements about logistics.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Logistics Coordinator Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
  • Familiarity with ACE and other compliance tools and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • IATA DGR Training preferred.
  • Transportation-related licenses, certifications, or training preferred.


Logistics Coordinator Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in the transportation and warehousing industry.
  • Knowledge of US trade law and compliance.
