We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Execution Specialist to lead our vendor tooling procurement process. This position involves managing the complete tooling procurement lifecycle from early feasibility through to final negotiations, ensuring competitive and timely sourcing for our program requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Early On-Boarding (EOB): Execute early feasibility checks on components with tool shops.
  • Effective Sourcing: Validate tool shop capabilities to ensure a competitive bidding process.
  • Tool Shop Identification: Identify and assess tool shops for potential partnerships.
  • Transparency: Use standardized tool breakdown sheets to maintain clarity throughout the process.
  • Negotiation: Finalize negotiations to support program finance goals.


Experience Required:

  • Tooling & Business Acumen: Prior experience with tooling commodities and corporate business processes.
  • Collaboration: Ability to foster collaboration with a can-do attitude and self-motivation.
  • Emotional Intelligence: High degree of emotional intelligence to manage multiple critical assignments and adapt as needed.
  • Tooling Expertise: Minimum of 5 years in tool-related fields such as tool construction, assembly integration, manufacturing feasibility, or cost estimating.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Impeccable communication and strong negotiation skills.


Experience Preferred:

  • Tool Making: Experience in tool construction or design at the tool shop or Tier 1 level.
  • Cost Estimation: Background in costing or estimating tools.
  • Production Experience: Experience in tool launch or production, with knowledge of best practices and cost/timing estimations.


Skills Required:

  • Tool Sourcing Strategies: Develop and implement effective tool sourcing strategies in partnership with purchasing teams.
  • GPDS Coordination: Manage Global Product Development System (GPDS) deliverables for all build events.
  • Tool Performance: Develop analytical tools and strategies for best-in-class tool performance and timing.
  • Cost Management: Responsible for cost status and targets in collaboration with various teams.
  • Technical Coordination: Act as the single point of contact for technical issues related to suppliers and engineering.
  • Supply Base Relationships: Manage positive relationships with supply base and plant personnel, ensuring ethical business operations.


Skills Preferred:

  • Supply Base Monitoring: Oversee the technical quality of the supply base and develop contingency plans.
  • World-Class Supply Base: Develop a supply base capable of meeting quality, cost, and timing objectives.
  • Emerging Technologies: Identify and develop tooling supply base for new technologies.
  • Long-Term Partnerships: Ensure partner suppliers meet expectations for quality, cost, timing, and technology.
  • Global Collaboration: Interface with global teams to exchange best practices and market intelligence.


Additional Information:

  • This position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility between remote and on-site work.
