Job Summary

Join a dedicated team in the high-throughput Samples Laboratory to collect and organize DNA/RNA samples for genomic sequencing research, supporting the Genomics Platform's production goals. Responsibilities include tracking data for quality control, registering results in databases, and adapting to new processes and technologies. Contribute to developing new methods and adhere to quality standards by evaluating and troubleshooting critical processes according to Broad Quality Management System requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of adapting to new technologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes within the Genomics Platform.


This is a 6-month contract opportunity, located onsite in Cambridge, MA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support: Collaborate with the supervisor to find alternative technical solutions to problems.
  • Work with team members to ensure timely calibration and validation of test units.
  • Management: Support Broad quality management initiatives.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with teams and PdAs to manage production pull boxes based on priorities and capacities.
  • Maintenance: Follow established protocols for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Management: Gather experimental data and report to supervisors regularly.
  • Keeping: Maintain digital records of calibration and validation activities and manage sample receipts and shipment schedules.
  • Operation: Operate robotics for sample re-arraying.
  • and Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and preventive maintenance of freezers, refrigerators, and LN2 tanks.
  • Verification: Conduct pre- and post-validation verification of freezers, refrigerators, and LN2 tanks.
  • Platings: Perform external platings as required.
  • Provide updates to supervisors and managers.
  • Preparation: Pull and prepare biological samples for Genomics Platform teams.
  • Entry: Record results in spreadsheets and databases, monitoring established quality control metrics.
  • Review: Review calibration and validation reports.
  • Shipping: Ship biological samples as needed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot calibration and validation failures.
  • Write deviation reports as necessary.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • in a laboratory setting, preferably in a biorepository or genomics environment, is highly desirable.
  • in handling DNA/RNA samples and using laboratory equipment.
  • with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data entry.
  • of quality control procedures and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
