Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process
- Monitor and update forecasts based on actual performance and changing business conditions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Cash Management and Bill Payments:
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Manage and execute the payment of all bills and expenses for both companies.
- Work closely with external accounting partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.
Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets.
External Partnerships:
- Act as the primary liaison with external accounting firms to manage bookkeeping, payroll, and tax filings.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination between internal operations and external accounting partners.
Team Leadership:
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance function.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of team members, if applicable.
Strategic Support:
- Partner with the executive team to support strategic initiatives and business planning.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
